The Jayco Herald Sun Tour – FELT Young Rider Scholarship was an exciting new addition to the 2008 Jayco Herald Sun Tour which we were pleased to offer to two young Victorian cyclists; Alice Fresle and Thomas Hamilton, both from Ararat.
The opportunity is available again and 2009 applications are now being reviewed.
One of the significant features of the Jayco Herald Sun Tour is its commitment to nurturing local professional cyclists and as custodians of Australia’s oldest stage race, TL Sports has identified the importance of continuing this philosophy down through the ranks of junior cycling.
Therefore, together with key industry partners including FELT Bicycles, Echelon1 Cycling Coaching, CycleSport Victoria, Champion System, and the Herald Sun, we have developed a young rider scholarship associated with the Jayco Herald Sun Tour to aid the development of junior Victorian cyclists. The scholarship will provide two upcoming stars access to professional equipment, coaching and opportunities to help them take the next steps forward in their cycling development.
The 2009 scholarship is targeted at M19 and W19 road cyclists with one male and one female scholarship to be awarded.
