The first stage of the 2020 Lexus of Blackburn Women’s Herald Sun Tour is a fast and flat stage set for the sprinters.
As we have seen in the past day one can offer up the sweetest of victories for both well-known and unheralded riders, and those chasing line honours and General Classification riders will be on high alert so as to not miss any potential splits.
With a number of route direction changes plus narrow open roads, the race could be explosive if the wind is up and the opportunists get busy.

2020 Lexus of Blackburn Women’s Herald Sun Tour – Women Stage 1 – Shepparton to Shepparton
The Word from the Women’s Race Director – John Trevorrow
“With some of the world’s best sprinters in the field this is their chance to not only win a stage but to snare the prestigious leader’s jersey. There is barely a hill in sight as far as the eye can see in this part of Victoria and featuring a mix of wide and narrow roads through the open farmland of the Goulburn Valley this stage will be one for the sprinters. However, if the wind is up as it was on recent recon visit, then it could be a stage for the aggressive riders and certainly has the potential to wreak havoc on the peloton and create some time gaps from the outset of the tour.”
