Course Overview

Start:     18:15pm – Federation Square, Melbourne

Finish:  19:30pm –  Queensbridge Square, Melbourne

The Jayco Herald Sun Tour will kick off with an exciting, spectator friendly 2.1 km Individual Time Trial through the heart of Melbourne.

Rolling straight off the Federation Square stage the course will feature some technical sections before a flat and fast finish along Southbank promenade.

The Word from the Race Director
“The prologue has the potential to be a defining stage.  15 seconds lost or gained could really define the Tour.   If one of the stars took it a bit easy and lost time that could be crucial”

Viewing Points

  • Federation Square – watch the riders start on the Federation Square stage and fly past Flinders Street Station and across the Yarra River.
  • Alexandra Gardens – relax as the race passes through the gardens and travels along Boathouse Drive.
  • Southbank – Enjoy the fast finish from one of the many bars and restaurants along Southbank whilst enjoying views of the iconic Yarra River.
  • Queensbridge Square – join the crowd at the finish line and enjoy the atmosphere of the Tour Village. You will have the best seat in the house and the added bonus of the big screen, live commentary and post race presentations.
